Eating out on the island of Rarotonga is one of the greatest surprises enjoyed by our guests. The quality and presentation of food in the Cook Islands is very high, and a variety of international dishes are available. The food selection includes superb international cuisine through to the old favourites - Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese and Continental are all found within close proximity of our Rarotonga boutique resort.
Much of the food used in restaurants around Sea Change Rarotonga comes from New Zealand and is flown in fresh or frozen. Local produce is also used abundantly. Bananas, pawpaws, passion fruit, taro, local spinach, and deep ocean fish such as Mahi Mahi, Swordfish and Marlin can be found on many of the menus. Whatever style of cuisine you find tempting, you'll be impressed by the friendly, helpful service and the quality.

Vaima Polynesian Bar & Restaurant
Newly renovated this establishment is a favourite of our guests. Set right on the beach on the south side of the island it's just a short five minute drive from Sea Change. Vaima offers indoor dining, or on the deck dining but best of all ON THE BEACH DINING – wiggle your toes in the sand while you enjoy the mouth-watering food at the Vaima. Complimentary pick up and drop off is available for our guests.
This lovey little cafe is situated at the "half way" mark on the island, on the inland side of the road overlooking the stunning Titiakveka lagoon. Saltwater Cafe is a short two minute stroll down the road from Sea Change Villas and is open for breakfast and lunch with a wide variety of delicious options.
LBV (Le Bon Vivant) - Restaurant
This French cafe located in Muri Beach (5km from Sea Change) is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you'll find LBV will soon become a farourite during your stay. Offering delicious pastries, coffees and savouries for breakfast and lunch as well as hot dishes such as apple and blueberry pancakes, eggs Benedict and croquet madame take away or dining in. LBV offers mouthwatering dinner options such as slow baked MaiMai, potato gnochi with tomato caper butter - delicious!
Tamarind House - Restaurant & Bar
Located three minutes clockwise from the centre of Avarua. A restored unique heritage colonial house, set in a very large and tranquil garden overlooking the ocean. Perfect for weddings. Open for brunch and lunch. Open for dinner from 6pm.
Sails - Restaurant & Bar
Located approximately 5kms east of Sea Change Villas on Muri Beach, overlooking magical Muri Lagoon.
Sails Restaurant has long enjoyed a reputation as a great place to enjoy the best Rarotonga has to offer in terms of Pacific Cuisine, unparalleled lagoon views and warm friendly service in a funky modern surroundings.
Located on the white sandy beaches of Muri Lagoon inside the Rarotonga Sailing Club, the building provides plenty of room with both indoor and outdoor seating suitable for a casual lunch, a memorable evening meal or just pop in and enjoy a cocktail or two on the deck with their world famous Island Fries.
The Sands Restaurant & Bar
Located approximately 2kms east or anticlockwise from Sea Change Villas.
Offering a pickup and return service from Sea Change Villas. Serves breakfast & dinner and has a beach barbecue on Sunday evenings.
The Waterline Bar and Grill
Situated at Aorangi and the Sunset side of the island, this quin-essential Robinson Crusoe style restaurant located right on the beach is the perfect spot to enjoy a Sundowner. Join them for live music on a Wednesday night
Situated in the main township of Avarua on the waterside of the main road is an institution in the Cook Islands. Overlooking the water of Avarua harbour, the restaurant enjoys a stunning setting, along with a reputation for quality dining, with superb, freshly caught seafood a feature. The sea breeze and beautiful views make it a wonderful location for a relaxing afternoon meal.
As the sun sets over the water the bar area begins to fill with the dinner crowd and those looking for a cool drink. Watch out for the colourful local characters from politicians to business people who congregate at the bar to catch up on all the local island gossip.
Live music is provided at weekends from some of the best bands on Rarotonga. Red and white meat dishes are featured, but the emphasis is most definitely on the wonderful variety of locally caught seafood. And check out Trade Jacks new sister ñ Bamboo Jacks, offering an array of Asian dishes
Located at the Avana Harbour fishing club, Jill and her team serve a delicious lunch using freshly caught fish provided by her husband . With fresh Turkish bread and salad, these fish sandwiches have to be some of the healthiest - and yummiest lunches on the island.
Vaima - Restaurant & Bar
A perfect beach setting located close to Sea Change Villas and offering complimentary transfers, you will see why this restaurant is a particular favourite with our guests. An excellent menu to choose from with the pork belly being highly recommended! And make sure you leave room for dessert - Dorothy's desserts are reknown on the island.
